URGENCIAS: Spanish for doctors and Health Professionals

A course reference for doctors, health workers, therapists, interpreters / translators who specialize in this area...

Dear Friends,

We present this specific course, the result of our long experience in teaching Spanish, with whom we intend to fulfil a increasing demand of health professionals.

The course consists of five modules that we have called ‘Terminología general’ (General Terminology); ‘Prevención’ (Prevention); ‘Síntomas Diagnóstico y Tratamiento de Enfermedades’ (Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases); ‘Contenidos Nocio-Funcionales’ (Nocio-Functional Contents) and ‘El sistema sanitario español’ (the Spanish National Health System).

This organization is opened to changes and can handle other contents according to the student interests or needs. Although the teacher will propose a sequence of activities, this order does not imply a gradation in the linguistic or grammatical difficulty.

Each lesson of the course is aimed at learning the vocabulary involved, at implementing a specific communicative function, such as advising, making hypotheses, expressing opinions,… and at reviewing a particular aspect of Spanish grammar. A series of grammatical notes are integrated into each lesson in order to set up structures that allow the student to make more profitable its communication skills.

The section ‘Contenidos Nocio-funcionales’ offers a compendium of the most important structures and major functional expressions in the form of a resources bank, which will be useful both for consultation and continuous learning.

We are confident that this course will be very useful for you; many professionals, who have had access to it, have already confirmed this.
